Art of Bonsai

The art of Japanese bonsai embodies the Japanese spirit with philosophy, religion, and aesthetics harmonizing and complimenting each other. Bonsai is more than just an art form – it is a way of life and thinking; a way of cultivating patience, nobility, and sympathy – and this is the reason why bonsai is important for Japanese culture. Therefore, to understand bonsai art, you must learn and understand each of its core values ​​in order to experience it with a calm and open mind

Explore the art of bonsai with Mark Vossbrink. Learn how to form your own Bonsai tree. Connect with nature and experience the stress-relieving benefits of this hobby. A project is finished each month to take home. Please bring your own pruning shears and pliers to class.

The class/workshop will be a 2-hour program. The $35.00 cost includes material for each workshop. Each month will be a different project. Please bring your own pruners or snippers. It’s also helpful if you have a plastic sheet to cover your table.

Cost: $35 per class
2022 Dates: Third Thursday or third Saturday of the month.
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Place: The Resource Center at Main City Park
