The Gresham Japanese Garden is comprised solely of volunteers—there are no paid employees. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. Tsuru Island, Ebetsu Plaza, Ambleside Annex, Mural Garden, Peace Tree Garden, and our Pollinator Garden comprise the spaces GJG maintain inside Main City Park. GJG is the “gem of the city” because of the dedication of our volunteers and leadership team.

Volunteers also run all our cultural events and manage the rentals of the Kyoudou Center.

Look for dates in the Spring for volunteer orientation meetings. Our next one is March 11, 2024, or find out more by emailing us. Tell us your interest! volunteers@greshamjapanesegarden.org.

Saturday Garden Days

Every Saturday from 9am-12pm the Gresham Japanese Garden volunteers are working at the Garden at 219A S. Main Avenue, Gresham, OR 97030.

Please join us. We’ll have gloves and a shovel ready for you.
