The Gresham Japanese Garden has three spaces available for rent; Tsuru Island, Ebetsu Plaza, and Kyoudou Center.

Tsuru Island is only 3/4 of an acre in size, so large groups prohibit the space to be enjoyed by others. Any group over 8 people must reserve the Japanese garden for photo shoots. Please send request using the form below.

Dishware and Glasses

We supply 50 settings of Corelleware, silverware and water glasses with 20 stemless wine glasses.

Coffee/Tea

Bring the coffee and we’ve got you covered with a 10-cup coffee maker or for larger events an 80-cup percolator. Also, a hot pump and hot water maker.

Trays and Tongs

Seven serving trays and large and small tongs.

Spoons, slotted spoons, and serving spatulas

Cost $300.00 for 3 hours
Details
  • 1,250 square feet, air-conditioned and heated
  • Maximum capacity is 50 people
  • ADA accessible entrance ramp and restroom
  • One onsite, in-person meeting with rental coordinator.
  • Liaison on-call during event.
  • $300 for 3 hours. Each additional hour is $100. *See rate below for Non profits and non-filings.
  • Refundable cleaning deposit of $100.

  • Two buffet tables (18″x72″)
  • Welcome table (20″ x 48″)
  • Wifi projector with HDMI hook up, screen and podium

Sound System for Rent
  • Two speaker with stands, and wireless microphone. $25 setup not included

Table Cloths and Napkins for Rent
  • White table cloths for rectangular tables. $5 each
  • Circular black stretchy table cloths for bistro tables. $5 each
  • Black stretchy table cloths for buffet tables $5 each
  • Black stretchy table cloth for welcome table $5
  • Black cloth napkins. .25 each
Alcohol
  • Event insurance is required if alcohol is to be served. Average cost is $125. We use https://www.theeventhelper.com/, but you can choose whomever you find.
Housekeeping
  • Only painters tape can be used on walls. No glitter (including edible glitter) confetti, or open-flame candles
  • Take all garbage, recyclables, decorations and food with you
  • Returnable cans and bottles may be left in the Green Bottle Bag as a donation to the Garden
  • Wash all kitchen items and/or load dishwasher
  • Wipe counters, tables and chairs, and sweep floor
  • Tables and chairs may remain as is
  • Loading and unloading in front of building only (15 minute limit)
Non-Profits and Non-Filing Rentals
*We are a community center. For non-profits and non-filings renters we offer a rate of $60 for 3 hours. Email rentals@greshamjapanesegarden.com to receive the list of amenities at this rate.
Cancellation Policy
  • 60-day advance notice for 100% refundable reservation. Date change may be allowed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  • 30-day advance notice for 50% refundable reservation. Date change may be allowed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

 Kyoudou Center + Ebetsu Plaza

Cost $450.00 for 3 hours
Details
  • A detailed clean up of the spaces before your event.
  • Closing all the spaces from public use.
  • One onsite, in-person meeting with Rental Coordinator.
  • Ebetsu Plaza paver pathway’s accesses chained off during event.
  • Maximum 50-person occupancy in the Kyoudou Center.
  • Maximum 100-person occupancy at Kyoudou Center in combination with Ebetsu Plaza.
  • $450 for 3 hours ($150/hr for additional hours).
  • Refundable deposit is $150.

  • Take garbage, recyclables, decorations, and food with you at end of event
  • Metal chairs returned to chair rack at entrance
  • No smoking anywhere in park
Alcohol

Alcohol is not permitted on location without purchasing event insurance. Average cost is $120. We use https://www.theeventhelper.com/, but you can choose whomever you find. Liability insurance has to be for $2,000,000 and include GJG and City of Gresham as additional insured.

 

These spaces are owned by the City of Gresham. The City nor the Gresham Japanese Garden is responsible for any injuries that occur on the premises. Sign the liability release form and return.

Photo Shoot on Tsuru Island

Tsuru Island is the newly renovated strolling Japanese garden located in the center of Main City Park, Tsuru Island is surrounded by Johnson Creek as an elevated island showcasing several Japanese structures; a moon bridge entrance, a covered ADA azumaya, machiai, blue-stone hand carved ADA pathways, a chōzubachi, all beautiful backdrops for a photo shoot. 

$100.00 for one hour

Details
  • Three-quarter acre Japanese garden
  • ‘Closed for Special Event’ sign at entrance to Tsuru Island, and a standby monitor
    at Tsuru Island during photo shoot.

  • One-hour maximum

 Amenities
  • Usage of the azumaya (gazebo)
  • One electrical outlet in the azumaya
Housekeeping
  • Stay on path. Standing in garden spaces is not permitted.

  • No glitter, confetti, birdseed, rice, or glass permitted

  • No items can be hung or tied from the trees or sculptures

  • No smoking anywhere in park.

Add a memory to your special event!

At Ebetsu Plaza, located a stone throws away from the Kyoudou Center is commemorative pavers. All the proceeds from the pavers is directed into an endowment fund with Edward Jones. This endowment fund can be used in the future for the upkeep of the spaces the Gresham Japanese Garden manages. This endowment fund is insurance that Tsuru Island will not go into disarray again.
