On a windy spring evening, a hundred community members experienced an ethereal event, listening to traditional music while illuminated blossoms fell among them like snow.

The Japanese have a word for what Gresham enjoyed: “Yozakura,” which translates to the sight of cherry blossom trees at night. For the first time, thanks to volunteers with the Friends of the Gresham Japanese Garden, the city got to enjoy that outing.
